Our Mission

Hey everybody, my name is Fernando Bucio.  I’m a husband, dog dad, gym enthusiast, and coach here at Sol Fitness. I was born in California but have been in Southern Utah for most of my life. Stephany and I met in high school here and got married a few years after that. My fitness journey started when Steph dragged me to the gym for the first time about 10 years ago. I’m not gonna lie, it was a challenge for me to get into it. I had a grown-up a fat kid my whole life, so working out and good eating habits were very new and foreign to me. That didn’t last very long though. Once I started seeing results and realized this was really good for my health, I was hooked. I thank Stephany for getting me started. I do feel like I had a slow start. There was so much to take note of and I had no idea where to start. It felt like a bunch of trial and error. Once I found something that worked and started to fine-tune everything, I was finally in motion. I’ve lost up to 70 lbs, but have also gained muscles since then. Fitness is a lifestyle that will require a change in all areas. From lifting and eating to sleeping and recovering. It all goes hand in hand. I’ve had a lot of fun on my journey and I’d be more than happy to help you get started on yours.

Hi there! I’m Steph :) Back in 2013, like many kids fresh out of high school I was enjoying my newfound freedom by indulging in fast food daily, no exercise whatsoever, a part-time job, and a full-time college schedule. I had very little knowledge about fitness or health in general so I didn’t really think much of how it was affecting my body AND my mind until one day I woke up and didn’t recognize the person in the mirror. I gained weight, I was tired all the time, and I felt very unhappy with who I had become. The switch was definitely not immediate. It was a very gradual shift and LOTS of trial and error. Over the next couple of years, I would stumble through learning workouts and learn more about the importance of nutrition. In 2017 I had a woman approach me at the gym and ask me to train her and just like that this was my first client. It felt nice to help :) That ignited a spark in me and peaked my interest in becoming a personal trainer. I wasn't being fulfilled with my day job in pharmaceutical sales and it was obvious something had to change. I took a leap of faith, got my NASM certification, quit my job, and posted on social media that I would be taking clients. It’s been a journey to get to this point but I’m so grateful I took that first step. The people I have met and the lessons I have learned are invaluable. Even though I had to take a break during the pandemic it just gave me time to go back to the drawing board and think of ways to serve my community better. In 2021 we rebranded and Sol Fitness was born.
